Who We Are

Viaduct Foundation is a family trust established by our family, Cindy Macie, Ross Thomas, Alexandra Thomas, and Craig Thomas.

With an exclusively charitable purpose, we are a registered charity (as a private foundation) with the Canada Revenue Agency.

Our charitable purpose is the funding of education and education related projects. More specifically, we will fund only education charities in the poorest countries of the world; the bottom third as measured by purchasing power parity (see Wikipedia).

Our investment strategy is to grow the initial endowment of the foundation at the rate of inflation and to pay out annually all interest and revenue over and above that amount.

A private foundation may carry out charitable activities directly, however we plan to only make gifts to other registered charities working on education projects in our target countries.

As a private foundation we expect most of our revenues to come from endowments, but now that we are a registered charity with CRA we can issue tax receipts for donations!
